When the Facts Are Not on Your Side

The tactic to use if the facts don't support your views is to first try to discredit your adversary in some way. Usually the best way to do this is through some sort of "personal" attack. After all if you attack the messenger, the messenger looses his or her ability to debate you. This tactic is really effective if you can some how insinuate that your opponent is a "racist"! That is the #1 attack strategy to use, The Racist Tactic! In this day and time there is little anyone can do to defend themselves from this accusation. If you can't bring yourself to use this strategy or if your opponent is an African American perhaps some other way of calling attention to that persons faults would be in order, like say their criminal past. The great thing about this strategy is that you don't have to know that your opponent is actually a former criminal! Just go ahead and accuse them of something like say, past drug abuse. This works really well if you seem as if you know something about your opponents past that they thought few would know about. Even if the claim that you make is false, the fact that you deliver that accusation with an air of "yea right, sure you haven't, you just can't bring yourself to admit it", the tactic will work! I promise it will.
Anything that you can think of that sounds even remotely nefarious will work. You could say something like (my opponent has repeatedly "gone out of their way" to avoid paying their taxes on time). The part "gone out of their way" works in many situations. There is again little a person can say right then to avoid sounding guilty of it.
I HOPE THAT SOME OF THESE SUGGESTIONS HAVE BEEN OF SOME HELP. EVEN IF YOU CAN'T USE ANY OF THE ONES I HAVE MENTIONED, MAYBE I HAVE GIVEN YOU THE GROUND WORK TO CREATE YOUR OWN AS THE SITUATION PERMITS. YOU CAN USUALLY PICK UP GOOD IDEAS BY READING THE NEWSPAPERS. THE REPORTERS THESE DAYS HAVE BEEN TO COLLEGE TO LEARN THESE TACTICS AND THEY ARE QUITE GOOD AT IT. NEVER BE AFRAID AND ALWAYS SPEAK AS IF YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.
